Home	Joe Sutter, MS, PT is the founder and president of Tuckahoe Physical Therapy. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University and his Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Duke University. He began his physical therapy practice in Richmond, VA in 1981 after playing professional basketball in Europe. Joe’s career has involved many roles as a clinician, administrator, educator, author, and researcher. He has presented over 150 professional educational topics and has held clinical faculty positions at the Medical College of Virginia - Virginia Commonwealth University. He has published chapters in text books and articles in orthopedic and sports journals with an emphasis on shoulder rehabilitation. He has also been an active member of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association including current memberships in the orthopedic sports and private practice sections. Joe's interests outside of physical therapy include music, fishing, tai chi, gardening and traveling.
